Copenhagen is the city to go big when it comes to catering. The city owns one of the best restaurants in the world for a reason. Bazaar's Emma loves Copenhagen and knows the Danish capital like the back of her hand. Based on her experience and tips from locals, she has compiled a list of the best restaurants in Copenhagen - perfect for your next city break.

Part of the brand-new The Socialist Hotel, Bobo Food Studio is an immensely popular destination for more than just hotel guests. Chef Boris - whose resume includes Noma - has created an experience you won't soon forget. If you opt for the full package, you will enjoy no less than 11 (!) courses, which take you to different places in the property. You start at the bar with a first course and matching cocktail, travel to the kitchen for the next courses to watch the chefs at work, and then dine in the wine cellar, the restaurant itself and the lounge for desserts. All ingredients are local (except the truffle) and literally everything is homemade - and you can taste it.

Extra fun: starting this month, the restaurant launches a Chef-in-Residence pop-up programme, inviting different chefs every fortnight. For one to four days, the chef in question takes over the entire restaurant. The initiative is in collaboration with Cook it Raw, set up by former PR and marketing director of Noma Alessandro Porcelli. It kicks off on 24 November with none other than chef Albert Adrià, known worldwide for El Bulli, Heart Ibiza and Tickets. In short: you'll want to visit for this reason alone.

When you visit Delphine Restaurant, it's a moral obligation to order the bread. We assure you: you've never tasted anything like it before. Besides, the rest of the menu is also finger-licking good: the dishes are inspired by Greek and southern Italian cuisine, which makes for original combinations.

From hearsay, we know that at Noma you will live an experience and taste sensation you didn't know existed. For years, Noma has been regarded as one of the best restaurants in the world - in fact, it holds three Michelin stars. They do so with verve, including a chef's menu full of local and seasonal produce. In autumn, the menu focuses on meat, in spring on fish and towards summer on vegetables. If you want to experience it for yourself, make sure you book in time. Reservations open around two months in advance.

Noma, Refshalevej 96

Yellow is still a fairly hidden gem in Copenhagen, but nevertheless the best place for luscious food and natural wines. It is tapas-style, and the cuisine is a mix of Spanish and Italian. Perfect if you want to dine like a local.

Yellow, Kapelvej 1

Bottega Barlie is the place for good wine and matching dishes. We emphasise good wine, because at this place they will tell you everything about it. Whether you like natural wines or are more into classics, here you will find something you would love to kill for a whole bottle.

Marv & Ben serves gourmet dishes of Scandinavian origin. Located in a cosy two-storey flat, it almost feels like home - but with good service and dishes you don't fake yourself.

The menu at Vækst is based on vegetables and herbs from the Nordics. The restaurant consists of two floors and is also papered with plants. The menu is compact, but contains everything you want: from a good beef tenderloin to locally caught fish and several vegetarian options.

Vækst, Sankt Peders Stræde 34

Gasoline Grill is the place if you love (vega) burgers. The concept is in several places in the city and the owner is also founder of Danish fashion brand Soulland. In short: at Gasoline Grill they understand how to eat burgers in style.
